We are absolutely thrilled to share that our very own Julie Hind, Chair of Wodonga Urban Landcare Network, was awarded the Bryan Watson Award for Wodonga Individual Volunteer of the Year!
Julie has been with WULN since its very beginning and what a journey it’s been. While you might not spot her out planting trees or pulling weeds with Friends of Willow Park these days, make no mistake: Julie is quietly working behind the scenes supporting all the Network does. She gives countless hours to the unglamorous but essential work that keeps a large organisation running including, leading the Board, steering our strategic direction, managing governance including HR, finance, safety and risk, and making sure staff and volunteers have the support they need to do their best work. None of what WULN achieves would be possible without her commitment.
This year’s theme, “Your Year to Volunteer”, couldn’t be more fitting. To every one of our 550+ Landcare volunteers who give their time, energy, and expertise to look after the land, waterways, and wildlife of our region….THANK YOU. You are the reason we exist.
