We’ve had a busy week with plenty of successful events held including Gardenesque over two days in Albury at a joint stall with BirdLife Australia and Our Native Garden Nursery. REMINDER – Coordinators – 2025 planting day’s
As discussed at our recent Operational Meeting, WULN groups have agreed to a collective planting week in the last week in June (Saturday 21st June to Sunday 29th June). This will assist in acquitting the BUPA/ Landcare Australia Grant which has funded the purchase of our plants for 2025. WULN will support groups with joint promotions to raise the profile of the groups and our work!
Please let me know via email here what date/ time you would like to hold your planting day during this week SATURDAY 21st June to SUNDAY 29th June so that I can start to arrange logistics and communications for this collective event! I need this information. by 14th March at the latest please!

NECMA are calling for input into the Ovens and Murray Drought Resilience Plan
Have your say on implementation priorities – Ovens and Murray Drought Resilience Plan
The North East Catchment Management Authority (CMA) has recently received funding to develop a 12-month implementation plan and coordinate funding for implementation activities for the following 12 months (until April 2026). The total funding pool available for activities is $300,000.
We are seeking feedback from farmers, agricultural industries, community organisations, Traditional Owners and government on priority focus areas and activities for the 12-month implementation plan. This feedback will guide allocation of implementation funding.
To have your say please complete our online survey by 5pm Tuesday 18 March 2025. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Register your interest to implement activities – Ovens and Murray Drought Resilience Plan
We are also seeking expressions of interest (EOIs) for any groups and organisations (individuals are not eligible) that would like to deliver Ovens Murray Drought Resilience Plan implementation actions over the next 12 months. For this grant opportunity, up to $300,000 (GST Exclusive) is available for grants up to 1 year (until April 2026). The minimum grant amount is $10,000 (GST exclusive) and the maximum grant amount is $60,000 (GST exclusive). Applicants can submit multiple applications.
To submit an EOI please read the guidelines attached and complete the online form by 5pm Tuesday 18 March 2025. We note the tight timelines so EOIs can be high-level with more detailed project/activity information determined, if successful, during contract negotiations with the North East CMA.
