Committee recently approved a new Landcare group within our Network.
The Friends of Wodonga Landcare brings together individuals passionate about sustainable land management and conservation in the Wodonga region. This group is for those who support the Landcare ethos, which promotes caring for the natural environment through community-based efforts.
The Friends of Wodonga Landcare caters to different types of participants:

Private Landowners: Members who own residential, peri-urban, or rural properties in Wodonga can receive guidance and support for undertaking Landcare activities on their own land. This includes implementing sustainable practices, habitat restoration, and land rehabilitation projects.

Public Land Supporters: For those without private land, the group provides opportunities to contribute to Landcare initiatives on public lands in Wodonga, such as parks, reserves, and community gardens. Participants can volunteer their time and effort to enhance and protect these shared natural spaces – including as members of other Wodonga Landcare groups.

Network Advocates: Friends of Wodonga Landcare actively support the activities and events organized by the Wodonga Landcare network. Members can engage with the broader Landcare community in Wodonga, attend educational workshops, participate in community planting days, and contribute to citizen science projects.
Through this inclusive approach, the Friends of Wodonga Landcare fosters a sense of environmental stewardship and promotes practical actions that benefit the local environment in Wodonga. Whether working on personal properties or collaborating on community projects, members can actively contribute to the Landcare movement and make a positive impact on improving the natural environment in Wodonga.
In the interim this group is being co-ordinated by the Facilitator but I am on the lookout for a keen volunteer who might like to take the reins!
