Stronger Communities Programme – Round 9

The Stronger Communities Programme seeks to encourage and support participation in local projects, improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant and viable communities.

Grants between $2,500 and $20,000 are available for projects that have a maximum project cost of $50,000. Eligible projects must be a small capital works or capital expenditure project that deliver social benefits to your community.

Eligible organisations can apply for up to 100% of project costs, while local governing bodies (LGAs) can apply for up to 50% of project costs.

Examples of eligible projects include:

  • Upgrades, construction and fit-out of community spaces
  • Acquisition and installation of energy efficient appliances or systems
  • New or upgrades to disability access or amenities in public buildings or facilities
  • Provision of women’s facilities at sporting grounds or buildings
  • Construction or upgrades to child-friendly spaces or facilities
  • Purchase and installation of first aid equipment, including first aid kits

A small committee of representatives from our community will assess the expressions of interests recieved, and successful applicants will be invited to submit a full grant application. Final decisions on successful grants will be made by a delegate of the Department of Industry, Science and Resources.
