Come along and join us in Wodonga for EVM GROW- DEECA’s Environmental Volunteer Managers event. In exciting news the event which is being held in Melbourne will be livestreamed into a hub at the North East Water office in Wodonga. This event for paid and unpaid managers of environmental volunteers, is a great opportunity to learn, share and connect with other environmental volunteer managers across the north east at our Wodonga hub which will be hosted by Wodonga Urban Landcare Network.
The event includes morning tea, lunch and an afternoon presentation from a local environmental educator, Karen Retra with a focus on the importance of preserving threatened white box grassy woodlands in urban environments.
- Session 1: Key Note speaker Beth Hill from Psychology for a Safer Climate
- Well-being as a volunteer and taking action through connecting with nature
- Session 2: Panel Discussion on innovation and best practice
- Hearing from 3 different projects- Port Philip Eco Centre, Summer by the Sea and Volunteering through Disaster
- Session 3: Collaborative breakout sessions
- Focusing on next steps for individual volunteers, challenges in their programs or their next big focus
Please note that our local content with environmental educator Karen Retra will be delivered from 1:15pm
