Dr Alison Pouliot delighted attendees across the two sessions, each day of the weekend at the recent fungi workshops. We were treated to interactive workshops, each exploring different aspects of fungi (or mycology), specimens, stories, ecology and some time in the field finding fungi.
Even though locally the dry conditions meant our opportunties were a bit limited, we did find about 8 species on each of our two field trips!
Alison and her assistants Clare and Marita also provided an mind-boggling array of specimens, along with the preferred substrate and plant ‘partners’ of each species. As always, the time flew by as we explored, identified, questioned and learnt … and hopefully the recent rain will provide more opportunities to continue our curiousity with some further seasonal fungi activity.
