Webinar: Advocating for the future of Landcare

Hosted by Landcare Victoria Inc.

When: Tuesday 29 October, 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Where: Online via Zoom

Register via Humanitix

Facilitators are the glue that holds Landcare together. Facilitators support 734 groups across the state and in 2023 alone helped landcare groups deliver 16,619 MCGs (29,417 Ha) of revegetation, weed and herbivore control to protect biodiversity in Victoria.

Yet the future of this program is uncertain. Current funding runs out in March 2026, while more broadly, the program has not seen a significant funding increase since it began 10 years ago. This means our facilitators and landcare groups don’t have the resources to deliver for their communities safely.

Every dollar invested in facilitators returns 7 times that with the added benefits of creating regional jobs, connecting communities and enhancing environments. Facilitators also work to ensure farmers have access to the best available information tailored to their local area.

In this webinar, Landcare Victoria will outline our submission to the State Government’s Victorian Landcare Facilitator Program review. We will also provide an overview of the value of facilitators and how you can advocate for Landcare to your local representatives. This means you will have the key messaging and knowledge needed to ensure you are a powerful advocate for this campaign.

We need your help to ensure a vibrant future for Landcare in Victoria. Register your attendance today and please share this email amongst the landcare community.
