Rocky Diretto
A one-person powerhouse who has transformed his local area and inspired neighbours to join the Landcare movement. Rocky’s dedication since joining Friends of Wodonga Landcare has been nothing short of remarkable!
Community Engagement in Waterways Excellence Award
Friends of Ewart Brothers Reserve
For their persistent work improving House Creek, overcoming challenges like black willow thickets and flooding to continue enhancing this vital waterway environment.
Community Engagement in Wildlife Habitats Excellence Award
Friends of Susan Campbell and Kent McKoy Reserves
Creating crucial wildlife corridors across Wodonga’s hilltop reserves, with recent nest box installations already showing signs of gliders!
Community Partnerships Award
Our Native Garden Nursery
For their incredible collaboration to save the critically endangered Banksia canei, propagating over 800 plants and assisting in restoring this locally extinct species to Mt Burrowa.
It’s always tricky selecting recipients for these awards when there are so many amazing Landcare volunteer groups undertaking fantastic work across Wodonga.
So a heartfelt thank you goes out to all Wodonga Urban Landcare groups and volunteers for your unwavering commitment to protecting and enhancing our natural environment!
