WULN AGM
It was wonderful to welcome so many people at our AGM which was held on Sunday 19 October, held at our new premises at Baranduda Fields.
How fantastic to have a dedicated space for the network! We thank Wodonga Council for its generous support in renovating and making this space available to us.
At the Special Meeting held prior to the AGM, the two special resolutions were passed by members.
A key part of the AGM was a celebration of the merger the ONG Nursery with WULN. Jude Scarfe, President of ONG Inc. gave a short speech and then she and Julie Hind, Chair of WULN cut a cake. Read more in the following item.
Following the AGM, Wendy Smith from the ONG Nursery outlined the concept plans for the nursery’s eventual relocation to Baranduda Fields. Everyone was excited to see how the nursery will expand over coming years. Wendy then led a ‘Walk ‘n Talk’ to show people where different components of the nursery will be sited at the new location.
New staff
We welcome the following people:
Bev Hoffmann as the ONG Nursery Business Manager, as announced in the previous Network Update.
Bev brings a wealth of experience in assisting organisations through change. Bev has been contracted until the end of June next year. She will support ONG nursery staff and volunteers integrate with the network, lead the development of a 5-year business plan and an initial annual budget, and oversee the development of an implementation plan for the future relocation of the nursery.
Dominique (Dom) Larsen – Dom’s employment as Nursery Production Manager with ONG has transferred to WULN as part of the merger. Dom’s focus will remain the same – ensuring the production of a reliable supply of high-quality native plants and training volunteers in propagation.
Maheema Rajapaske – Maheema has joined us a volunteer Human Resources (HR) Support Officer. Maheema is an experienced HR officer who is currently studying for an MBA at RMIT University. Maheema will support the Board and senior staff with a mix of HR activities in the areas of policy development, recruitment, employment conditions, and volunteer management.
