Last night’s first summer storm—complete with thunder, lightning, and the perfect seasonal soundtrack—was quite the wake-up call! Combined with daylight saving kicking in and Christmas displays already filling the stores, it hit me: summer is practically here, and 2025 is racing toward the finish line.
AGM and Network Gathering reminder! This isn’t just a lovely opportunity to connect as we wind down the year—it’s a celebration of something truly special. The Our Native Garden Nursery-WULN merger is finally coming to fruition! While there’s significant work ahead as we unite our two organisations, this milestone deserves to be celebrated together.
You’ll have the chance to view concept plans for the new nursery, walk the site, and explore the new Ecohub/office. It’s an exciting glimpse into our future!
Quick update: The official Baranduda Fields Ecohub Opening has been rescheduled to February 2026, which means our Operations meeting for Coordinators will proceed as planned on Sunday, 16th November, 10am-12pm.
Welcome to the team, Bev Hoffman! Bev joins us as the new Our Native Garden Nursery Business Manager, bringing a wealth of experience working with youth and volunteers. Many of you may recognise Bev from her role as CEO of NELLEN (North East Local Learning and Education Network), where she’s been connecting young people with meaningful education and employment opportunities across our region.
Grant success! We’ve secured funding from Albury City Council and the Victorian Landcare Grant program for Garden 4 Wildlife Events on both sides of the border, plus additional funding for waterway restoration in Wodonga. More details on these exciting projects coming soon!

Reminder: Baranduda Fields – call out for donations
In exciting news we have had Council handover the Baranduda Fields office to WULN! We are starting to procure items thanks to grants from the Stronger Communities Fund (Helen Haines) and the Border Trust Community Grant. However, we will not have enough funding to purchase every item needed to get the site up and running. We are seeking donations of the following items. If you can assist or have anything that you feel may be useful for the new office, please email Lily
- Glasses, kitchen utensils
- vacuum cleaner
- pots, pans, baking trays
- lunch room table and chairs
- office draw units
